The NAISSMA 2022 Opening Session, dedicated to the memory of Mrs Jane Katjavivi, writer, activist for human rights and spouse of the Hon. Peter Katjavivi, Speaker of the Namibian National Assembly and first Vice-Chancellor of UNAM, will begin at 3:00 pm, with the welcome greetings by Dr. Samuel Nuugulu, Chair of the Department of Mathematics of UNAM, Prof. Martin Mugochi, the Namibian referent of the LMS-MARM program, Giovanni Marelli, Director of NAISSMA 2022, Prof. Frednard Gideon Pro-Vice-Chancelor of UNAM, Mrs. Albertina Ngurare, CEO of NCRST.

With the participation of Dr. Alessandro Micheletti, Honorary Consul of Italy, Prof. Pierguido Sarti (Italian Embassy in Pretoria), Loide Kapenda (Ministry of Education and chair of the educational section of NAISSMA 2022), Mrs. Meryl Barry (Pupkewitz Foundation), Letterio Gatto, LMS-MARM grant holder.

Prof. Frank Neumann, associate member of the European Mathematical Society CDC, and Chair of the LMS-IMU-AMMSI MARM program, will greet all the participants (in remote modality)
